The NDIS: What is it all about?
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) aims to improve the way disabled individuals get the support they need. This helps them attain their goals and actively participate in community life.
The National Disability Insurance Agency implements the NDIS. They started in 2013 after several years of discussion on the need to improve disability services in Australia.
There are eligibility requirements to fulfill to have access to NDIS. These include:
- Having a significant and permanent disability affecting your capability to participate in daily activities
- Being below 65 years old upon joining the scheme
- Being an Australian citizen, New Zealand citizen holding a protected special category visa or permanent resident

Types of support from NDIS registered service providers
NDIS funds a wide range of support services such as:
• Therapeutic support – including behavioural support•
• Everyday personal activities
• Transportation for participating in social, community, economic, and daily life activities

• Assistance with household tasks to maintain a participant’s home environment
• Home design, modification, and construction

The National Disability Insurance Agency supervises the approval of NDIS providers. They make sure that providers have the necessary qualifications to give high-quality services to participants.
Our Services
We are a significant provider of Supported Independent Living services for people with NDIS packages funded for assistance with activities of daily living. We provide support in homes for people with mental health related disability and also have a few services for those with more complex needs.
It’s up to you and what’s in your NDIS plan as to what mix of support services will be included in your service agreement with us. We can provide counselling, coaching and other support services through video or telephone link if required. Some services are delivered as outreach to you in your home or another location in the community.
